The building is shared by three households: Lina lives on the 2nd floor, Kristal on the 3rd floor, and you have the entire floor on the top floor. The building is very safe and private — only the three of us have access to the building.
Your floor is completely private and includes a bedroom, living room, kitchen, and access to one of the best rooftops in The Hague. There is a toilet on both the second and third floors. The bathroom and washing machine are located on the second floor, and to reach them you will need to pass through Lina’s kitchen.
The weekly rubbish collection period is from 8 PM on Monday until 8 AM on Tuesday.During this time, you can place your rubbish outside on the street.
For rubbish bags that are left outside, please use the yellow plastic bags with the Municipality of The Hague logo as the outermost layer. This helps prevent seagulls from opening the bags and scattering rubbish around the street.
For small amounts of rubbish or anything that may cause unpleasant smells, you can of course use the rubbish bins downstairs at any time.
There are also 24/7-accessible bins for general waste and recyclable waste nearby, so you don't have to wait until Monday evening to dispose of your rubbish. If there is any rubbish left in your room when you leave, you can also dispose of it in these bins before you go.
You can find their locations [here].
The apartment is located on a lively street with many bars and nightlife nearby. Because of this, the area can sometimes be quite noisy at night, especially on weekends. The level of noise varies from night to night, and on some nights you may find it more comfortable to sleep with earplugs.
If the noise becomes excessive or causes a serious nuisance, you can report it to the local authorities. In general, an enforcement officer may come to assess the situation and take appropriate action.
In case of nuisance, call the control room at 0888 333 555.
- You will be connected to an operator and can explain the situation and make a report.
- The operator will check whether you are on the call-out list and contact the on-duty inspector.
- The on-duty inspector will call you back and assess whether an investigation can be carried out.
Please note that the authorities assess each situation individually, so an officer's response may vary depending on the circumstances.
The shared hallway is cleaned approximately every two weeks. The cleaner usually comes in the morning, but the exact day is not fixed. Please try not to leave personal belongings or other objects in the hallway, as they could accidentally be knocked over or damaged during cleaning.
Cleaning inside the apartment is your responsibility. You can find a cordless handheld vacuum cleaner, mop, towels, and other cleaning supplies in the kitchen. Please keep the bathroom clean after use and avoid leaving personal belongings there. Please give the apartment a basic clean and leave it in roughly the same condition as you found it when you leave.
